Spiralling staircase

This room, with the elegant winding staircase, holds numerous pictorial devices by the Chini family: a deceiving, black and white lozenge shaped tapestry covers the bottom half of the walls, while on the upper part we find a trefoil arch cornice. Originally, on the right wall, opposite the window, there existed a display of majolica tiles, designed by Chino Chini and produced by the Fornaci San Lorenzo, depicting the Pecori Giraldi family tree. Today, on this same wall, we find a smaller scale picture of this work of art, and its original sketch. An iron wrought chandelier, from which decorated glass prisms drop,  hangs from the middle of the ceiling. It, too, was created in the twenties by the Fornace San Lorenzo.
